Presence Practice

presence practice:

what is here now?

my breath;
rising and falling
in my chest

a soft, grey sky

vital, red tree buds
gracing the branches

the ground
beneath my feet

verdant flora
pushing up through
the crust of the earth

the audible quiet

the movements
of my sweet dog’s paws
as he lay dreaming by my side

the prayer
that rises from my heart
for all of those suffering

s i g h . . .

from the depths
of my practice,
I blow a tender kiss
across the oceans,
over the mountains;

into the heart of humanity…
