Returning to Gaia

[ma gaia]
[the necessary wisdom of course correction]

make fierce my willingness

to lift the veil
on the ways
I turn my back on you,

to remove
the layered lenses
of conditioning;

to expose
the seduction of
convenience,

the unnatural machine
of distraction
that draws me
always
away
from you;

rendering me

impotent
in service to you,

deaf to

your primordial voice,
your fundamental vital force…

attune the depths of me
to your ears,
your eyes,
your unflinching honesty;

portals of your
vast intelligence;

that I might remember,
and consciously return
to my natural place
in the shimmering web of life:

your mountains
standing tall
inside me,

your rivers rushing
through my veins
like holy blood,

your forests
growing inside me;
a haven for the wild things,

your oceans
push and pull their tides
deep within;
initiating me in the
eternal motion
of evolution unfolding…

crack me wide open,
so I can see
that I am full
of you;

my body
is your body,

my breath
is your breath,

my heartbeat
is your heartbeat,

my longing
is you:
calling me home…
